Application:
The floor must be clean, dust-free and dry with max. 10% moisture. If the floor is power-trowelled so the surface is very dense, thorough sanding is required. If necessary, test the surface by placing water droplets on the floor. If “beads” form on the surface, the floor is too dense and must be sanded. After sanding, test again with water droplets.

NOTE! Stir paint and hardener to a homogeneous consistency separately before mixing. Once paint and hardener are mixed, stir the mixture to a homogeneous consistency again before use.

Efadeck H2O Heavy 0548 is mixed with Efadeck H2O Heavy Hardener 0610-06235 in a 4.2:1 ratio (by volume). The contents of the sales unit are matched to the mixing ratio, so it is important that all the hardener is mixed into the paint. After vigorous stirring, the paint is ready for use. After mixing with hardener, the paint must be used within 3 hours.

For concrete floors not previously painted, prime the floor with Efadeck H2O Heavy mixed with hardener and 10% water.

Application of the 1st coat is best done with a brush broom or brush. After min. 4–6 or max. 24 hours of drying, apply the 2nd coat, Efadeck H2O Heavy mixed with hardener, with brush or roller.

NOTE! The product must not be thinned with water in the final coat and must be applied in thin coats. The finished painted floor must not be subjected to load until after 2 days of drying. Washing must not be carried out until after 7 days of drying.

Notes:
Efadeck H2O Heavy performs best at temp. >15 °C and RH <50%. Lower temperatures and/or higher humidity will extend the drying time and may change the paint’s properties.

Previously painted floor:
Efadeck H2O Heavy adheres well to floors previously painted with Efadeck Original, series 0451. However, it must be sanded to a matt finish before treatment to achieve proper adhesion.

NB! It is important to ensure that all the paint to be used for the floor has the same batch no.

NOTE! When using strong chemicals on the floor, you may damage the paint surface and thus end up with a less easy-to-clean floor.

REMEMBER: Ensure good and sufficient ventilation while the paint dries. Removal of large amounts of water vapour is a prerequisite for the paint to cure.
